In the recent past Australia is in good form,after beating England 6-1 in the ODI series after the Ashes and also won the ICC Champions trophy title for the year 2009.Performance of Aussies is up to the mark in the first ODI versus India in the 7 match ODI series.
Threat to Haddin:
Paine came into to Team Australia as a replacement to the injured keeper Brad Haddin.But his batting at the opening of their innings is absolute beauty,this is becoming like a threat to Brad Haddin as Pine might permanently replace him as their keeper.
Ponting's super form continues:
Ponting,who is in great form since the start of this season continuing his form in this series also,started this series on a high with well compiled 74(85).Skippers super form leading the team up from the front.

Team India is not in the best of form in the recent days,main players like Virender Sehwag,Yuvraj Singh,Zaheer Khan and some more players are suffering injuries.Sehwag and Yuvraj are back in to the squad for the current series,Sehwag was totally all-right and played in the first ODI,Yuvraj is rested for the first one as he isn't much fit.This is showing effect on the batting and also the teams confidence.

Sehwag and Gambhir are India's renowned opening pair in both forms of the game.But,it is vague why Dhoni is experimenting that slot with Sachin when Gambhir is in the final eleven.Being the most experienced amongst the team,Sachin must be in a stage to play at any order in any situation of the game.Gambhir & Sehwag's combination might get still more runs in the first power-play rather than Sachin & Sehwag,as Sachin takes some time to settle his innings.It is not at all fair to do so in the power-play overs of the game as they are crucial for a batting team,most of the teams are utilizing power-play fielding restrictions to good extent.Sehwag and Gambhir duo had good understanding in running between wickets and strike is rotated frequently.This right and left hand batting combination also doesn't allow bowlers to stick to certain bowling plan,Dhoni might have prefered Gambhir to Sachin as Sehwag's opening partner.Ravinder Jadeja must be promoted up the order instead of batting at a position where he will be inadequate of batting partners in pressure situations.Dhoni himself renowned as good finisher must come down the order where Jadeja actually batted in the 1st ODI as he can handle pressure much better than the youngster and new comer.
