India posted an invincible 99 run victory with brilliant batting
Ind 354-7 (Dhoni 124, Gambhir 76, Raina 62*) bt Aus 255 (Hussey 53, Jadeja 3-35) by 99 runs
After long gap,Indian batting fired under the lights of Dhoni,Gambhir and Raina.Winning the toss Aussies skipper Ponting decided to bat field.This proved to be wrong later on,there was some good hitting from Sehwag early on but he fell quickly after making 40 of 31 balls.Sachin once again fell early but Gambhir gave good support for Sehwag,who looked to be on fire for some time.Yuvraj looked comfortable in his come back into final eleven but feel for a good slow delivery from Hilfenhaus.Later Dhoni and Gambhir built a solid partnership of 119 in 18.5 overs,Gambhir was run out after making 76(80).Raina joined Dhoni and this pair added 136 in just 15.3 overs.Dhoni 124(107) made his 5th ODI century,Raina 62(50) also made a quick fire half century.Finally India posed a target of 355 in front of Aussies.Regular loss of wickets kept Aussies away from the chase of huge target,they fell 99 runs short of their target.Australia were able to make 255 in 48.3 overs,thereby India leveled 7 match ODI series 1-1 with 5 matches still to go.Next encounter is to be on 31st of this October at Delhi.
