




Mahendra Singh Dhoni born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi,Bihar made his debut to first-class cricket in 1999-2000.He became a serious contender for national selection from 2004,made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in this year itself.His 148 of 123 against Pakistan at Vishakapatnam was spectacular and it is only his 5th ODI in international cricket.In the next season that is in 2005-2006 at Jaipur,he smashed 183* of 145 against Srilanka and is the highest ever by a wicket keeper batsmen.In this match he also broke the records of highest Individual score bating second,highest number of runs in the form of boundaries.He was named the vice-captain to the tour in England and Ireland.Later he lead the team in the Inaugural T-20 world cup in South Africa where India stood up as Champions.He was then named as the skipper for ODI's also in September 2007 as Rahul Dravid stepped down as the captain.Later he was also handed over the reins of Test squad and succeeded in leading India to their biggest ever win against Australia in terms of runs.He also achieved the fame by making Team India claim their first ever test series victory on South-African soil in the last 3 decades.Averaging over 40 runs in both tests and ODI's Dhoni proved himself as eminent skipper by leading India to glory in many occasions.Team India is aiming for triumph in the world cup since after 1983.It is now on the shoulders of this Dynamite who is expected to lead Team India in the World cup-2011 that is to be held in Indian Subcontinent.Not only in International cricket but also in the tournaments like IPL he is one among the most valued cricketers in the contemporary cricket world,it is rigid as he is highest valued Indian cricketer playing the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
Lead CSK to win IPL-3 in 2010 and became the first Indian captain of an IPL franchise to lift up the IPL Trophy.
