Preview:

India’s long tour to Australia begun with a couple of warm-up matches at Canberra ahead of ‘The Prestigious Boxing Day’ test match. First warm-up match was a decent one for India and it ended in a draw. In the second, India didn’t look that convincing. Except Kohli(132) no other India batsmen succeeded in making a 50 plus score. In the 1st innings India were bowled out for 269, Aswin was a bit positive after picking 4 out of 7 wickets of CA Chairman’s XI.2nd innings was a short one that lasted only for 30 overs with India scoring 90/2.Gambhir looked okay in this innings with an unbeaten 42. Bowling by Indian attack in 2nd innings is quite ordinary, their counterpart made 100/0 in 30 overs and the result is same as the previous one.

On the other hand Aussies spotted good batsmen in Ed Cowan who scored 109 in the warm-up and placed him in the team. The skipper Michael Clarke disclosed his final eleven a couple of days ahead of 1st test at ‘The MCG’. The Aussies, being a strong team seemed positive with this move.

Australia v India, 1st Test, Melbourne

Result: Aussies beat India by 122 runs

Series: Aussie lead India 1-0 in the 4-match series with 3 tests to follow.

1st Innings:

The Boxing Day arrived and both the teams are on the field. Australia won the toss and chose to bat, both their openers Warner and Cowan were fluent and added 46 for the first wicket. Umesh Yadav had the first luck Warner(37) fell edging one to Dhoni, then had Marsh for a duck with the first delivery of his consecutive over. Ricky Ponting is on the field trying to settle his team. He added 113 along with Cowan and departed after scoring 62. Skipper Clarke was in for Ponting, added 46 alongside Cowan. Zaheer made his presence felt with a double blow for Aussies, Clarke(31) edged one on to the stumps and Hussey followed him immediately for a well directed bouncer but the hotspot showed no bat in it. Aswin was bought into the attack and soon Cowan(68) was given out for edging one to Dhoni which even seemed doubtful. At this stage Australia were 214-6, Siddle(41) joined Haddin(27) this pair added precious 72 to the total and were done by Zaheer soon in succession. Finally Aussies were all-out scoring 333.

India didn’t had the best of the starts they are looking for, lost Gambhir(3) early edging one from Hilfenhaus to Haddin. Dravid joined Sehwag, this piar added 75 to the total and then Sehwag(67) was cleaned up by Pattinson. With a big cheer from the crowd Sachin joined Dravid at the centre, yet another century partnership from these batting legends. Sachin(73) who looked like making his 100th ton fell for Siddle in the final over of the day. Ishant joined Dravid and this pair drove India safe till stumps on day-2. Dravid(68) departed in the first over without disturbing the overnight score–card. In no time the remaining batsmen were back in the hut and India noticed another dramatic collapse from 214-2 to 282 all-out. Ben Hilfenhaus who was playing his 1st test after the Ashes last summer was very impressive with 5-75 in 26 overs.

2nd Innings:

Australia secured vital 51 run lead in the first innings. Yadav quickly had the first 3 wickets of Aussies similarly as in the 1st innings. Australia were reeling at 4-27 with Clarke(1) been sent back early by Ishanth. Hussey then joined Ponting in the middle and this pair added 115 to the score. Ponting scored 60 and was sent to the pavilion by Zaheer, soon Haddin departed leaving Hussey with the tail. With some resistance from Pattinson(37) Austalia managed 240 and Hussey(89) being the top scorer missed out on a hundred.

India came in to bat on day-4 chasing 292 which seemed a possible one for them with big-guns like Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Laxman, Dhoni. But this time around Sehwag initiated yet another collapse and finally India were packed up for 169 losing the test by 122 runs.

Highlights of The Match:

Zaheer, Yadav, Hilfenaus had 7 wickets each.
With 6 wickets and 55 runs(18*,37*) James Pattinson was named Player of the Match.

Series: Aussie lead India 2-0 in the 4-match series.

Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), is one of the oldest cricket grounds in Australia. Including the 2nd test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2011-2012 SCG hosted 100 test matches. Taking a look at some more Interesting figures regarding this ground, one will be astonished to find that Sachin Tendulkar has the highest average of all Test cricketers at the SCG. In four Tests there he averages 221.33, India holds the highest total at SCG 705/7d in 2004, Highest number of runs by an individual at SCG is 1480 by Ricky Ponting which includes 6 centuries. Michael Clarke's selfless decision in this test match prevented him from pursuing Australian cricket landmarks. He passed up the chance to press on against an unthreatening Indian attack and have a shot at Matthew Hayden's 380, the highest Test score by an Australian.

India won the toss and chose to bat. The curator predicted that the pitch favors bowling on the 1st day of the test match. His prediction went quite good, India lost their wickets in quick succession. Half the side is back in the pavilion with less than 100 on the score-card. India were 96-5, at this stage Dhoni took charge alongside the li’l master, they looked like rebuilding the innings but suddenly things turned around and Sachin(41) was cleaned up by a wider fullish delivery from Pattinson which was dragged on to the stumps. The tail hardly resisted, in spite of Skipper’s unbeaten 57 they were bowled out for mere 191. Pattinson took 4 for and Hilfenhaus, Siddle had 3 each.

Australia came on to bat in the afternoon of 1st day of 2nd test. This time its Zaheer who drew the first blood, he grabbed all the 3 top order wickets in no time. Australia were 3-37 in 9 overs, looked unstable at that stage with three of their top order batsmen back in the hut. But from then things favored them, they survived till stumps without losing another wicket on day 1. Aussies resumed day 2 from 116/3 with Ricky at 44* and Pup(Michael Clarke) at 47*. Both of them looked steady and drove Australia past 300 mark . In the course both the skipper and Ex gone past their 100 mark. Finaly at 325 Ishant gave a breakthrough for India removing Ponting 135 caught by Sachin at point. But misery for India kept on continuing, Ishant droped one caught and bowled chance and from then Clarke didn’t look back. Clarke joined by Hussey after Pontings dismissal went on to make his first ever Triple that to on his home ground as skipper, this pair added unbeaten 334 run partnership. Finally declaration came, that to in astonishing manner. Clarke was at his best of the forms and is going at a very good pace, two and half days remain in the test match and he might also aimed for record breaking 400 but soon after Hussey’s 150 Aussies skipper declared at 659/4 placing a mammoth 468 1st innings lead before the touring team.

India had begun their second innings trailing a huge total, had a huge blow in the form of Sehwag’s(4) wicket in the 4th over itself. Gambhir was joined by Dravid, after adding 82 to the total Dravid(29) was bowled for the third time in this series so far. Gambhir(83) alongside Sachin added 68 runs to the board and was back in the pavilion. India were at 168-3 at that time. Laxman joined Sachin at the centre and they both took the score past 250. Sachin missed out yet another chance to make his 100th ton, this time around was trapped by the Aussies skipper on 80. Soon after, Laxman(66) was bowled with a beauty from Hilfenhaus who continued to have a great series so far. Dhoni and Kohli fell in quick succession at the score of 286. Aswin(62) showed some resistance along with Zaheer(35) and remaining tail but could rescue India from defeat. Finally India lost to Aussies by an innings and 68 runs which means Australia would not loose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2011-2012. Michael Clarke was named player of the match for his unbeaten 329.

Skipper MS.Dhoni is quite confident of the teams performace in this years World T-20 after the triumph of Chennai Super Kings in the 3rd IPL under his leadership.It is also quite clear that standards of Indian cricket are brought up and many domestic players under limelight were brought in to recognition during this prestigious league.It is quite interesting that selectors didn't preferred Pragyan Ojha to other leggy Piyush Chawla,since Ojha stood as the leading wicket taker of this IPL with 21 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 20.42.Rather it would be a better choice to pick Amith Mishra another leggy who is the 2nd leading wicket taker of this seasons IPL.Even though IPL isn't the criteria for the selection,it would be better to see the players current form for the tourney's like Twenty-Twenty cricket.Robin Uthappa, However the dashing Karnataka batsman hasn't been in the best of form during the season. Although he had a few big knocks to his name, consistency is one thing which Robin lacked. He tried to add an extra dimension to his abilities by keeping wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore with an eye on the World T20 selection, but he failed to do a convincing job with both, the gloves and the bat. However, Uthappa is a match-winner when in form,His ability to bat at any position from No 1-7 makes his case stronger as do his keeping skills.Injured Sehwag was out of the squad and Murali Vijay who displayed good batting skill in IPL-3 is to replace him.

India crushed Bangladesh in the 2 match test series 2-0.Dhoni was injured before the 1st test and was replaced as skipper by Virender Sehwag.India was put to bat in the 1st innings and due to collapse of middle order after a reasonable opening stand wasn't cashed.But Sachin's master class helped India score a fighting total.His 105 helped India put on 243 on cards.Bangladesh just managed 242 giving India a 1 run lead.In the second innings Gambhir scored 116 along side half centuries from Mishra,Laxman helped India make a huge total of 413 for loss of 8 wickets,Bangladesh scored only 301 giving 113 run victory.
India marched into 2nd test with its confidence on a high,Skipper MSDhoni was back into the squad after recovering from injury which kept him apart from the 1st test.Batting in the second innings of the match after restricting Bangladesh to 233,India managed a mammoth total of 544 for the loss of 8 wickets and declared the innings at that stage.The main contributers of the innings were Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid who added unbeaten 222 partnership for 3rd wicket which was ended up after Rahul Dravid was retired hurt(for this injury his had undergone a surgery which keeps him 3 months away from the game).Dhoni,later in the innings managed a well compiled 89 which drove India to a commanding position in the test match and also in the series.Zaheer made things quite easy for India by claiming 7-87 in the second innings,this gave Bangladesh only a 2 run lead which was later achieved by a leg-bye.There by India won the match and also the series 2-0.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi,Bihar made his debut to first-class cricket in 1999-2000.He became a serious contender for national selection from 2004,made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in this year itself.His 148 of 123 against Pakistan at Vishakapatnam was spectacular and it is only his 5th ODI in international cricket.In the next season that is in 2005-2006 at Jaipur,he smashed 183* of 145 against Srilanka and is the highest ever by a wicket keeper batsmen.In this match he also broke the records of highest Individual score bating second,highest number of runs in the form of boundaries.He was named the vice-captain to the tour in England and Ireland.Later he lead the team in the Inaugural T-20 world cup in South Africa where India stood up as Champions.He was then named as the skipper for ODI's also in September 2007 as Rahul Dravid stepped down as the captain.Later he was also handed over the reins of Test squad and succeeded in leading India to their biggest ever win against Australia in terms of runs.He also achieved the fame by making Team India claim their first ever test series victory on South-African soil in the last 3 decades.Averaging over 40 runs in both tests and ODI's Dhoni proved himself as eminent skipper by leading India to glory in many occasions.Team India is aiming for triumph in the world cup since after 1983.It is now on the shoulders of this Dynamite who is expected to lead Team India in the World cup-2011 that is to be held in Indian Subcontinent.Not only in International cricket but also in the tournaments like IPL he is one among the most valued cricketers in the contemporary cricket world,it is rigid as he is highest valued Indian cricketer playing the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.Lead CSK to win IPL-3 in 2010 and became the first Indian captain of an IPL franchise to lift up the IPL Trophy.

After beating Sri Lanka in the Test and Twenty Twenty series against,India also won the ODI series.Among the 5 ODI's Scheduled,the last one dayer in Delhi was abandoned due to an unplayable pitch conditions.The series was launched with the first ODI held at Rajkot,India beat Sri Lanka by 3 runs in a high-scoring thriller.With the in-form Virender Sehwag's whirlwind 146(102) India made a mammoth score of 414.In reply to huge total Sri Lanka mannaged 411 in 50 overs with the help of Dilshan's 160(124),but India finally managed to seal the match in the last over.2nd ODI that was scheduled in Visakapatanam was moved to Nagpur due to internal disturbances in Andhra Pradesh.India once again batting first managed to score 301 with Dhoni's fighting 107,Sri Lanka eased to the target with Dilshan's brilliant 123.They won the match with 3 wickets and 5 balls to spare.Dhoni was suspended for the next two ODI's due to slow over rate in both the matches.With 1 each in the series both the teams moved to Cuttak for the 3rd ODI that was scheduled there.Sri Lanka batting first failed to record a fighting total due to inconsistency of middle order batsmen they just managed 239 in 44.2 overs.Jadeja,the upcoming Indian all rounder bowled a brilliant spell of 4-32 in 10 overs.With Sachin's master class innings of 96* made it quite easy for India and it managed the target in 42.3 overs.In the 4th and series deciding ODI,Sri Lanka managed a challenging 315-6 in 50 overs and with quick wickets of Sehwag(captaining India in the absence of MS Dhoni),Sachin Sri Lanka seemed to be the favourite.But Delhi younggun's Gautam Gambhir(150*) and Virat Kholi(107) with a solid 224 run 3rd wicket partnership sealed the series for India with a lead of 3-1.Final ODI in Delhi was abandoned after 23.3 overs bowled,India winning the toss invited Sri Lanka to bat.Taranga was sent back to pavilion by Zaher for the first ball he faced.Later batsmen struggled a lot playing on a pitch where the bounce was quite uneven.After a long inspection the officials decided to call off the match.There by India finished victorious over the Sri Lanka in all the there formats of the game.Tillakaratne Dilshan was the top-scorer of the series with a mammoth 353 runs at an astounding average of 70.60. Opening pair and batting order:

Sehwag and Gambhir are India's renowned opening pair in both forms of the game.But,it is vague why Dhoni is experimenting that slot with Sachin when Gambhir is in the final eleven.Being the most experienced amongst the team,Sachin must be in a stage to play at any order in any situation of the game.Gambhir & Sehwag's combination might get still more runs in the first power-play rather than Sachin & Sehwag,as Sachin takes some time to settle his innings.It is not at all fair to do so in the power-play overs of the game as they are crucial for a batting team,most of the teams are utilizing power-play fielding restrictions to good extent.Sehwag and Gambhir duo had good understanding in running between wickets and strike is rotated frequently.This right and left hand batting combination also doesn't allow bowlers to stick to certain bowling plan,Dhoni might have prefered Gambhir to Sachin as Sehwag's opening partner.Ravinder Jadeja must be promoted up the order instead of batting at a position where he will be inadequate of batting partners in pressure situations.Dhoni himself renowned as good finisher must come down the order where Jadeja actually batted in the 1st ODI as he can handle pressure much better than the youngster and new comer.

Exciting start to the 7 match ODI series between India and Australia.India took it till the end,especially Harbhajan 49(31) and Praveen Kumar 40*(32) swung the match but couldn't finish it in style.Peter Siddles last over ended things in Aussies way.Praveen joined Harbhajan at a stage where India needed 90 odd runs in last 10 overs,some good hitting from both the all-rounders buildup an 84 run 8th wicket partnership.India needed 9 runs of the last over as the last ball of previous over is hit for a 6 by Harbhajan,Praveen rotated strike with a leg-bye.Siddile bowled a perfect length ball for Harbhajan,he swung and missed it but not siddle.This ended the hopes of India's victory.Finally India lost to Australia by 4 runs,Sehwag and Sachin made a decent start to the innings but didn't last long.Gambhir came in replacing Sehwag and continued his good form in this season.He received little support from the partners,Kholi and Dhoni tried to give some support but wasn't enough.Aussies bowling attack was good enough to restrict India in the powerplays.Last ten overs were played exceptionally well by Harbhajan and Praveen.

Earlier in the morning Aussies won the toss and choose to bat first,lost Watson in the second over itself but Ponting joined Paine and carried the innings slowly.They both added 97 runs to second wicket that was ended by Isanth Sharma in the 19th over.Ponting continued with White even after loosing Paine.Both Ponting,White and Hussey made half-centuries which took Aussies to a challenging total.Hussey was named the player of the match for his handy 73(54).Both the teams meet again at Nagpur for 2nd encounter which is a day-nighter of this 7 match ODI series on 28th of October.

IPL is not proved to be the league of Champions,as all the three teams that played in this seasons Champions League were eliminated before semi's.In the first match on day 10 Cape Cobras met with Victorian Bush Rangers which is delayed and reduced to a 17 overs match due to security reasons.VBR managed to 125-5 in 17 overs, with Mc Donald 29(22) was the best scorer amongst them.Cobras chased the target quite easily,loosing only 2 wickets and 1 over to spare.This match knocked RCB out of tournament.

In the other match RCB took on DD.Delhi batted first but didn't managed a good score,after 20 overs they scored only 138,which seamed to be a quite easy target as Ross Taylor fired with 38 ball 65 and gave RCB an ammaging victory which also eliminated DD from the tournament and this was the end of IPL teams in the first Champions League.

Eagles CJ De Villiers fired with the ball once again he grabbed 3 quick wickets.Somerset was restricted to 132-8 in 20 overs by Eagles.Durston 57(32) was the best amongst Somerset.Van wky played a well compiled innings of 47(41) which made things easy for Eagles.In 18.4 overs loosing 5 wickets Eagles finished the task.

In the other match Trinidad&Tobago met New South Wales,P Hughes and David Warner gave a great start to their innings adding 121 for the 1st wicket under 16 overs.But it wasn't carried after the fall of Warner and Huges.They managed 170-4 in 20 overs.Till half way this looked to be impossible for T&T but Pollard made it look comfortable for them,his 54(18) drove them to a memorable victory.

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced a huge loss in super 8's stage of CLT20 this season.Winning the toss RCB choosen to bat first,new openers Uthappa and Manish Pandey gave a good start to the innings.RCB reached 60 in 8 overs but lost half of their wickets by the end of 16th over.Pandey made 39(28),Dravid made 33(35) these were highest of RCB batsmen.Finally they scored 127-6 by the end of 20 overs.Victoria lost three of their wickets but managed the total by the end of 16 overs.McDonald took 4 of 6 wickets that fell in the RCB innings and is named the player of the match.

DC failed once again to fire in a do-or-die match,lost all of their 9 matches till date that were played in their home ground.Winning the toss Trinidad was invited to bat first,they lost their 1st wicket in the 3rd over and later Darren Bravo joined Perkins and managed a good partnership for second wicket but lost two consecutive wickets.Even they lost wickets in regular intervals Pollards 31(14) helped them to manage 149 on board.

DC hadn't had a good start,lost 3 quick wickets in the first 5 overs of their innings overs and then Rohit joined Gillchrist and this pair tried to repair the innings,Gilly played a good knock patiently with 51(36) driving to some extent they fell one after the other in 2 overs.Styris and Venu they had a good partnership which looked to be a match winning one but bad co-ordination made Styris run out.Then after wickets fell slowly and good final over from Bravo sailed T&T and DC back home.Dwayne Bravo for his 3-24 was named Player of the match.

This day had significance in the first Champions league as both the matches became qualifiers for either the teams.Wayamba managed 118-9 in 20 overs,Victorian Bush Rangers made 103-4 in 20 overs.Brilliant bowling performance from Wayamba bowlers gave them a victory in the league,but not the place in the super-8's.Harwood for his 3-14 in 4 overs was named the player of the match.

In another decider Eagles and Sussex stood equal in 20 overs scoring 119 each.Then came the first Eliminator of CLT-20,In the single over of Eliminator Eagles managed only 9 runs but Cornelius de Villiers took two Succex wickets and ensured Eagles a deserved victory.Rossouw of Eagles was named player of the match for his 65 of 62 balls.

Trinidad & Tobago made a great start to the Champions League beating Somerset by 44 runs.Reasonable partnership and some big hitting got T&T to 150 in 20 overs.Bruyn's 43* is the best amongst Somerset and a wickets fell at regural intervals and match ended in T&T's way. Bravo tooks 4-23 in 4 overs,skipper Daren Ganga made 23(18) and took 2-16 in 3overs and is named the Player of the match.

RCB bounced back strongly beating Otago in their 2nd match,thereby entered 2nd round of CLT20.Batting first RCB made 188 loosing 2 wickets of Uthappa 42(31),Kohli 32(19).Kallis 73(59),Taylor 32(11) played some huge shots which took them to a challenging total.Kallis also took 3-18 in 4 overs.Otago ended for 108 in 17.5 and RCB won by 80 runs.Kallis for his all round performance was named the Player of the match.

Sehwag gave Delhi a good start,he also went on to score his first half-century in the Champions League.He made 66(42) and laid track for Delhi to make a huge total.Karthik took charge after Sehwag and carried their innings and fell just before the last over if their innings after scoring 61(41),which drove Delhi to a match winning total.

This is Glen McGrath's first match after 30th may 2008, IPL but his line and length were as usual.He along side Speedster Dirk Nannes bowled brilliant spells and he had 2 wickets in his 4 over spell giving away just 20 runs at a average of 5 per over.Nannes had 4-24 in his 4 overs.Delhi's all round performance brought them back on track.They restricted Wayamba for 120-7 in 20 overs and won by 50 runs

Somerset upset Chargers in a final over thriller

11 League match of ICC champions trophy is a last ball thriller which decided the fate of two teams,one is Australia which is playing against Pakistan and the other is India the arch-rival of Pakistan.Depending on the result semi's berth from Group-A will be decided.If Pakistan wins over Australia India might have got a chance to beat W Indies with huge margin and enter into semi's.But dreams of Indians were washed away in a final ball thriller as Australia recorded a win over Pakistan with the single taken on the last ball.Till then the doors opened for India into semi's were shut at ones.Australia in a must win match,winning the toss choose to bowl first.Pakistan promoted their hard hitter Afridi(15) to open their innings,but he didn't last long.Skipper Younis Khan(18) came in one down and tried to settle their innings,he along side Kamran Akmal(44) added 45 runs to second wicket.Later Yousuf(45) and Misbah(41) had an useful 63 run 5th wicket partnership which guided them to 205 by the end of 50 overs.Australia managed some useful partnership straight-up their innings.This helped them to over come the thriller,by the end Pakistan's bowlers were back on track and resisted Aussies for some time from winning the match quite easily.But Brett Lee and Nathan Hauritz managed Australia to a last ball victory.Michale Hussey for his useful 64 was named the player of the match.

New Zealand kept their hopes alive beating Sri Lanka in a must win match.Winning toss Sangakkara took fielding to every ones surprise. Kiwis openers Mc Cullum and Ryder made Sangakkara pay price for his decision.They made a 125 run first wicket partnership,which held them further to build a huge total.Later New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals and from 125-0 to 161-5.Guptill was accompanied by their skipper and booth added 70 runs for 6th wicket.With some good hitting from Franklin and Mills in particular who made the last over count with 18 in just 6 balls New Zealand set a target of 316 for the Sri Lanka but it was too good for the Lankans.After a 66 run opening partnership they lost wicket regularly untill a 78 run partnership between Jayawardane and Kulasekara for the 7th wicket.But it was too late by then,they were packed by New Zealand for 277 in 46.4 over itself there by New Zealand won by a 38 run margin.Daniel Vettori made a pretty handy 48 of 44 and took 2-45 in his quota of 10 overs,this won him the player of the match award.

With the idea of extending his Test and ODI carrier Aussies Skipper Ricky Ponting announced his retirement from T-20 Internationals."After much thought and careful consideration I have advised Cricket Australia of my decision to retire from international Twenty20 cricket," Ponting said in a statement. "I have also spoken to [chairman of selectors] Andrew Hilditch, [coach] Tim Nielsen and [vice-captain] Michael Clarke and I feel this decision provides me the opportunity to prolong my Australian Test and one-day career, an opportunity I am extremely determined about."As I said after the fifth Test in London, I am hoping to continue playing Test cricket for as long as possible and retiring from the Twenty20 format gives me the best chance of doing this. Pakistan started the day needing 97 with eight wickets in hand, and Salman Butt and first-innings centurion Mohammad Yousuf resuming after comfortably negotiating the last half hour yesterday. But Thilan Thushara and Rangana Herath bowled exceptional spells of varied left-arm bowling to help Sri Lanka take the last eight wickets for just 46.Left arm spinner Herath got things wright in the Lankan's way,Herath's previous best bowling in Tests had also come against Pakistan - and he started the slide with his first ball of the day. Kumar Sangakkara read the situation perfectly, employing in-and-out fields, not giving easy release through boundaries or singles without an element of maneuvering. In between, he whipped and pulled Yuvraj to boundaries but ran himself out, turning back for the second run after tapping to square leg. He kept his cool and tried gamely to adjust to the new scenario provided by the frequent interruptions.Sarwan was helped by a lovely cameo by Darren Bravo.There were two fine sashays down the track against Yusuf Pathan for lofted boundaries but his best shot, and the shot of the day that evoked memories of great left-handerBrian Lara, was a fabulous cover drive off RP Singh. Vaughan calls it a day!

Michale Vaughan quits International Cricket as Englands most successful Test captain of all times.Under Vaughan's captency England won 26 of 51 tests,He also lead England to their first Ashes victory in 18 years against Australia in 2005.In the same year he lead England to their first Test series victory against South Africa in South Africa after 40 years.He also holds a record of 8 consecutive test wins in 2004.He not only succeded as a captain but also proved him-self with his batting,from his debut in 1999 till date he made 18 test centuries.He was named No.1 batsmen in test for 2002-2003,in that years Ashes he made 633 runs in which there are 3 centuries.Vaughan said: "After a great deal of consideration, I've decided that now is the right time to retire from cricket. It has been an enormous privilege to have played for and captained my country and this is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make."

Team India faced one of the worst batting collapse in the recent past.Dhoni was the highest scorer among Indian batsmen with 95(130) and Yuvraj 35(33),RP Singh 23(75) are the other the other two batsmen to make double digits.Taylor struck right up in the first over,removed Karthik who made 4(5).Rampaul who missed out for the first match had a good spell in this match got Gambhir and Rohit Sharma right up in his first over,He ended up with 4-37(10 overs).Taylor and Bravo shared 3 wickets each and finally India ended at 188 for 10 wickets in 48.2 overs.W Indies had a great start for their innings,had 101 run first wicket partnership for the 1st wicket in 15.2 overs.Gayle made 64(46) and his partner R Morton also made unbeaten 85(102).Sarwan came in for Gayle but was stumped by Dhoni in Rohits bowling after making 15(17).In the end Chanderpaul joined Morton and drove W Indies to great victory.W Indies completed the chase in 34.1 overs with 192-2 on board.For his brilliant spell of 4-37 in 10 overs Rampaul was named Man of the Match.Thus W Indies squared the 4 match series 1-1 and both teams going to 3rd match balancedly which is going to be held at Gros islet on 3rd July.

India made a great start leading 4 match ODI series 1-0 winning in the first one day held at Sabina Park in Jamaica.Winning the toss India came in to bat first,after adding 25 to first wicket in 4.3 overs Gambhir perished hitting a wrong shot in to the hands of Bravo.Rohit Sharma,who came in after Gambhir didnot caried at crease for long time and was sent back by Baker for 4.Later Yuvraj joined Dinesh Karthik who was already looking good at the middle.After adding 135 for 3rd wicket which was the highest 3rd wicket partnership among India V West Indies,Karthik ended palying an uncontrolled shot.But Yuvraj was joined by Dhoni and didn't look back and carried the score board,in the mean while Yuvraj compleated his 12th ton and 3rd against W Indies.Some hitting,quick running between wickets from Dhoni,Yusuf,Harbhajan took India to 339-6 in 50 overs.W Indies had good partnerships in the strat of their innings but were not good enough to win the match.Finally India won the first ODI by 20 runs leading the serie 1-0 and the second ODI is on 28th in the same venue.Yuvraj for his brilliant 131(102) was named the Player of the match.

This time Pakistan held its nerve in the Final and was successful in grabing the title,which they lost to India in the final of first World T-20 in South Africa'07.SriLanka Won the toss and choose to bat first,but they lost their in-form opener Dilshan for not in the fisrt over itself.This was a big blow,but Pakistan didn't let the situation turn around,they continued to give jowlts now and then.This totally lead down the SriLankan batting,Sannagakara played an anchoring innings which was joined by Mathews in the end.Mathews 35(24) in the end powered SriLanka to 138-6 in 20 overs.Later,Pakistan openers had a brilliant 48 run partnership for 1st wicket.Shahid Afridi played a well built inning of 54*(40) along side Shoiab Mallik 24*(22) and sailed Pakistan to a memorable victory.Pakistans cricket is in a sort of crisis since the terror attack on Srilankan team,this title may re leave them some what.Shahid Afiridi for his 54*,1-20 in 4 overs was named Player of the Match,T Dilshan for his brilliant performance through out the tournament got him the Player of the Tournament title.
Younis Khan announces retirement from T-20 Internationals

The Pakistan captain, speaking after Sunday's emphatic eight-wicket World Twenty20 victory over Sri Lanka, hoped the result would go far to saving cricket in his homeland, which is struggling to attract the interest of younger generations with no international matches being played within its borders.Younis' final act in Twenty20 international cricket was to lift the trophy that so narrowly evaded Pakistan two years prior. Tournament in the final stage

Beating Ireland Pakistan eased into Semi-Finals from group F.From group E it is W Indies ,who entered Semi's giving upset to England.In the deciding match Srilanka beat NewZealand to enter into Semi's from group F.South Africa being unbeaten already entered to Semis from group E.India lost even their last match of the tournament to South Africa and was out from the tournament with no wins in Super 8's stage.In the first Semi's South Africa took on Pakistan,Shahid Afridi did exceptionally well to see Pakistan through to final with both bat and ball.Came in for opener in the second opener and carried their innings to 10 overs and made 51(34).With his 51 Pakistan managed to 149-4 by the end of 20 overs.Afridi also removed Gibbs and AB De Villiers in 2 successive overs and that stood as the crucial break through for Pakistan and once again managed to Finals.Pakistan is the only team that made it to finals in 2 succesive World T-20 tournaments.In the second Semi's W Indies took over Srilanka,Srilanka was through to finals.Final is to be held at Lord's on 21th of this month between Pakistan and Srilanka

W Indies knocket out the host from the tournament by beating England in a rain hit match.England will look back and think the reduction in overs was harsh on them, but once again the batting had failed to build on a solid start against an attack lacking Fidel Edwards who was forced out moments before the toss with a back injury.As Ravi Bopara and Kevin Pietersen added 56 all was looking good, but once Pietersen picked out deep square-leg with a top-edged lap the innings stalled and nearly went backwards. There wasn't a boundary from the 11th over until the penultimate ball of the innings, when Broad swept Sulieman Benn and followed it up with a clean straight six as the bowler struggled with a wet ball. Bopara's 55 from 47 balls was full of elegance and class, with two on-drives as perfect as you could wish to see, but at times it seemed as though others were playing with hollow bats. Bopara and Pietersen managed 10 of the 13 fours between them and a lack of power in the middle order was cruely exposed. It is that absence of brutal hitting that was decisive, not the rain

England had a great day at Lord's sending back India the defending champions packing.Great bowling in the slog overs gave England a memorable victory over India.Winning the toss Dhoni chose to field first,with two changes in the side.Kept out Irfan Patan who had a good game against W Indies,Ojha who were replaced by Ravinder Jadeja and RP Singh.England lost their opener Luke Wright in the second over who had only made 1 run.Pietersen along side Bopara settled Englands innings with 71 run partnership for the 2nd wicket.Both Bopara37(37),Pietersen 46(27) were removed by left arm spinner R Jadeja.Mascarenhas 25(27),O Shah 12(10) added some valuble runs to board which took England to 153-7 in 20 overs.India lost Rohit Sharma 9(8) once again in the early in the end of 2nd over.Raina also fell quickly making only 2 run,Sidebotton got rid of two batsmen in succesive overs.Later R Jadeja and Gambhir consolidated Indian innings to some extant.But by 14 over India lost 5 wickets with 87 on the board,among them Yuvraj's stumping was crucial which turned the match in Englands way.Though Dhoni,Yusuf played quickly it didn't took India to the target and were short by 3 runs in the end.Rayn Sidebottom for 2-31 in 4 overs was named player of the match.

Srilanka had a narrow victory over Ireland,winning the toss Srilanka chose to bat first.In-Form batsmen Dilshan was gone for not, in the bowling of Rankin of the second ball on the innings.Sangakkara after making 3 run was caught back the stumps,by then total score was 14-2 in 3.3 overs.Then Jayasuriya and Jayawardane had a 67 run partnership for the 3rd wicket which gave a life to their innings.By the fall of Jayasuriya(27) in the 12 over,Jayawardane had a little support from the rest of the batsmen and finally Srilanka managed to score 144-9 in 20 overs.A Cusak of ireland lead theri bowling attack with figures 4-18 in 3overs.Ireland started the innings confidently and a 59 run partnership for 1st wicket.After adding 55 runs to the score they lost another 5 wickets and by 18th over they were 106-6.From there Srilanka had good spells to save the game.Malinga had good spell of 2-19 in 4 overs,This gave Srilanka a 9 run victory.For his 78(53) Jayawardane was named Player of the match.

Umar Gulls breadth taking spell of 5-6 in 3 overs kept NewZealand realing.Winning the toss Kiwis chose to bat first,but things gone totally wrong for them.Come back hero Razzaq opened his account,sending back McCullum in his first over.But later it was Umar Gull sent NewZealand packing.McCullum 12,Redmond 15,Styris 22 are the three double digit batsmen for Kiwis in their batting.Razzaq also ended with 2-17 in 3.3 overs.Finally Kiwis managed only 99 in 18.3 overs on the boad,this was not enough for their bowlers to defend up on.Pakistan also lost some quick wickets in succession but succeded in making 100 in just 13.1 overs.Pakistans new opening batsmen Shahzaib Hasan made a good 35(28),Afridi also managed to get back some touch with bat scoring 29(18).NewZealand skipper managed 2-20 in his 4 overs.Umar Gull for his brilliant spell of 5-6 in 3 overs was named Player of the match.

South Africa kept its winning streak continued beating W Indies by 20 runs in the Super 8 match on Saturday.W Indies won the toss and chose to field first,but this choice proved costly later in the game.Simth and Kallis had a good 54 run partnership for the first wicket in 6 overs,after making 31(18) Smith was caught by Fletcher in the bowling of Benn.Gibbs then joined Kallis and this pair added another 51 for 2nd wicket.After the fall of Kallis 45(31),Gibbs 55(35) South Afirca failed to build up good partnerships but had managed to reach 183 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.Jerome Taylor was the best bowler for W Indies with figures 3-30 in four overs.W Indies didn't had a confident start for its chase,lost their openers in 3 overs with 13 on the board.Simmons and Bravo once again held up the W Indies innings with a 57 run patner ship for 3rd wicket.With the fall of Bravo 19(17) Simmons had little support from the lower middle and the tail.This had them at 163 for the loss of 9 wickets by the end of 20 overs,there by giving Proteas a 20 run victory.South African pace sphere head Parnell had 4-13 in four overs,this got him the man of the match title.

In the toughest group of super 8,two teams W Indies and India had a good clash in their first league match.India won the toss and choose to bat,not a good start for India batting first.They lost Rohit Sharma5(3) who looked in good touch scoring a boundary in the 2 over.Finally Raina was back at his No.3 position,but hadn't fired as expected and was back in the dougout scoring 5(8).Gambhir was steady for some time,but mistimed one and was gone for Simmons brilliant catch after scoring 14(13).In came Dhoni to join along side Yuvraj who is waiting at the crease for support at the other end.Dhoni had not succeded in doing so,he was gone making 11(23).Yusuf Patan came in and both Yuvraj and Yusuf consolidated Indias innings with some big ones.In the end Harbhajan's 3 consecutive boundaries placed India at 153-7 in 20 overs.W Indies also lost Fletcher 0(2) for 1 on the score board in the 2nd over.Gayle was gone in yusuf's over scoring 22(28).But Simmons 44(37),Bravo 66(36) had a match winning partnership of 58,in the end even though Simmons was gone Chandrapaul finished things off for W Indies.For brilliant stats 4-38 in 4 overs and 66(36) Bravo was named Palyer of the Match.

Srilanka winning the toss choose to bat first.After building 81 run partnership for the first wicket with Dilshan46(39),Jayasuriya was the first Srilankan wicket to go after making 29(26).In the 11th over Dilshan was bowled by Afridi,After that Srilanka had no reasonable partnerships.But finally the ended up on 150-7 in 20 overs.Pakistan came in persuite of a compeatable target,but had a huge blow from the 3rd ball of their innings.In the span of 5 overs they also lost 2 wickets of Shoaib Malik28(20) and Kamran Akmal5(9) with 35 in the board.Then had a 66 run partnership between Younis Khan,Misbha Ul Haq for the 4th wicket.But M factor again worked for Srilankans Murali and Malinga removed them in consequent overs,also in the mean while Murali got rid of Pakistans hard hitter Shahid Afridi for a duck.From there Pakistan lost their way by loosing wickets at regular intervals.Pakistan had managed to score only 131-9 in 20 overs.Malinga once again had a good spell of 3-17 in 4overs.For his 46 runs of 39 balls Dilshan was named Player of the match.

Host England in facing tough time in this tournament,being lost to Netherlands in the league match its moral came down.Beating Pakistan in its second league match,England was through to Super 8's.But it was not that simple to pass this test,being with strong opponent like South Africa,W Indies,India in the group.In their first Super 8 match England faced a crush in the hands of South Africa.Facing the attack of Proteas England had managed to just 111 in 19.5 overs.Their bowling also not good enough to restrict South Africa under 111.Proteas eased to victory scoring 114-3 in 18.2 overs.Kallis had a good game bowling a good spell,taking 2-20 in 3 overs also batted well to score unbeaten 57(49).Kallis had a good support from Gibbs to overcome the target quite easily.Comming to Englands performance O Shah 38(33) was best among them,in the bowlin Stuart Broads 1-14 in 3 overs was the best.Jaques Kallis for his unbeaten 57,2-11 was named as the player of the match.

NewZealand Crush Ireland in a massive victory

NewZealand batting showed no mercy on Irish bowlers,winning the toss Ireland chose to bowl first.Kiwi opener Redmond cut lose on the Irish bowlers and scored 63 of just 30 deliveries.McCullum was not up to his mark and was back in the dugout soring 10(14),Martin Guptil joined along side Redmond and scored 45 of 32 deliveries.After fall of Redmond,Styris came in and made his presence count scoring 42(25).Finally NewZealand reached 198-5 in 20 overs.McCallan was the best among Irish bowlers he compleated his spell with figures 33-2 in 4 overs.Irish batsmen were unable to score doninating Kiwis bowling,as a result they were ended up at 115 in 16.4 overs.This gave Kiwis 83 run victory over Ireland.NathanMcCullum was impressive with ball,took 3-15 in 3 overs.Debutant NewZealander Aaron Redmond was named player of the match for scoring 63(30).
